Forget about Faction based Influence at first and focus solely on Base Influence. This combo of Ethics kind of scoots past both those pain points with Base Influence from Authoritarian/Domination and the reduced diplo costs for the soft hand of Diplomacy.īut it starts to make sense, especially after the first Ascension Perk is unlocked via the Domination Path. Start factoring in a few friendly methods of acquisition and Influence can be at a premium. In previous runs I was kind of sore about how I never really had enough to do anything of importance until I unlocked technology that gave me better options to spend Influence. Why did I go this direction with it? Well for starters you need Authoritarian for Slavery, duh, but I think I was approaching the Influence question from the wrong angle of attack. Second, my Governing Ethics were Authoritarian/Xenophile/Spiritual. Indentured Assets is neat in that you can get a nice spread going between trade based CG production and Indentured Assets consumption of CGs. This might get a little lengthy so bear with me but.įirst, I selected Criminal Syndicate and Indentured Assets. And let me tell you.it is everything I was hoping for. Habitats weren't as important but provided needed refining capacity for the plethora of special resource buildings extant in the Empire.įinally, I gave a slaver Criminal Syndicate megacorp a go. Mostly used them for the ability to generate beau coup amenities from Executive Retreats and then augment unity and generate energy. Criminal Syndicates were a bit more important in this one but still didn't reach the 'integral' gameplay thing I was hoping for. Went super wide really early and got a sense of how resources and limits interplay with one another. Second one was a Militaris/Egal/Materialist Criminal Syndicate. Unity was a cinch and I was already using Unity edicts around 2550 (which is early since I play with Tech/Unity stagnation set to 3X+) Tall play that really started to flex once Habitats came into play. The Criminal Syndicate aspect didn't factor that heavy into the game and was more flavor to roleplay than anything else. I grew and grew and grew upward but alas, I couldn't functionally win without changing my ethics away from FanPac to allow liberation wars. As you may know (but probably don't) I've been giving Criminal Syndicates a whirl.įirst one was a FanPac Subversive Sex Cult which was a hoot with the Gene Modification Ascension Perks.
